I'm telling you, it's getting way too tricky trying to take photos for my blog. The sun is setting so early that by the time Cole gets home from work we're almost out of time! I think I just really have to start planning my outfits for the weekends and take photos when we're not so rushed. In other news, things are looking good for my Etsy shop, which if all goes well, I might officially open tomorrow!! Fingers crossed!
When I first heard the news a month back, I thought it was too good to be true, but here you have it- two of my favorite brands joining forces to create some of the most perfect handbags ever! Melie Bianco and Dear Creatures have melded together to make dreams come true. I can't decide yet which is my favorite but I know there will be several MB bags on my Christmas wish list!! The above two bags, Melissa and Bianca, are part of the collaboration due out in December and the rest are Melie Bianco bags, many of which are already available online, styled with Dear Creatures clothes.
Cole and I had quite a fun weekend! Friday I attended the It's a Date sale with John where I found some excellent treasures, then later that night Cole and I went out dancing with Amanda to a 90's themed party at 331 Club. I, of course, wore my favorite 90s floral babydoll dress from Contempo Casuals with otk socks and pixie boots! Saturday we spent all day feeling poorly from the previous night and acted like slugs and on Sunday we went pumpkin picking. All in all, an excellent weekend.
In an attempt to thin out my coat, blazer and sweater collections, I've added tons of amazing fall and winter pieces to my wardrobe shop!
It's already getting pretty cold here in the Twin Cities and I had to stop myself many times during the shoot from making my it's-so-cold-I'm-not-too-happy face, which also resembles my don't-get-too-close-I-bite face. Cole and I had a leisurely Sunday dinner at Brit's pub and then rushed off to Nicollet Island to catch the sun before it set. Sadly, 60% of the photos were blurry from the lack of light, so here are the few that were in focus and looked decent.
You can't see me, but right now I'm doing a spastic happy dance in my living room! This amazingly perfect dress is a total dream come true! It all started back in March when I was contacted by the lovely Shannon of Smilla Clothing. She asked me if I was interested in collaborating on a dress design and I said "Yes!!" without hesitation. And so the process began. I told her about my style, loves, dreams, etc and she put pencil to paper and created what you see now. I was pretty open to many different vintage-inspired designs, my only requests were that I wanted a sailor collar and something that suited my figure. And voilà, Shannon made it happen! She is seriously genius.
How was your weekend? Mine had a slow start but then greatly improved after I picked up Cole at the airport on Saturday night. He was gone for a whole week in Spain and I missed him terribly! After he arrived we headed straight to Sweeney's for a drink and a basket of their delicious fries. Sunday, we went for a nice long drive up to Stillwater then to Taylors Falls. It was a perfect day spent enjoying the great outdoors. Had I known we would stop for a hike in Taylors Falls, I probably wouldn't have worn my Dear Creatures dress. People kept staring at me, which gave me the distinct impression that I was probably flashing them! Oh well.
