I'm having a surreal blogging moment. The lovely people at Weldon Owen have just released a new book, Style Yourself, which happens to feature yours truly! For more on the book and a chance to win a copy of your very own, read below...

I have this habit of buying style books on a whim. Being that I tend to be a bit all over the place, I usually gravitate towards the type that tell me how to streamline my style to a few key looks. It helps me feel less cluttered and more sophisticated. What usually happens after reading these books is that I purge my wardrobe and feel infinitely clutter-free but less unique. The question is how to find that perfect balance of individuality and adaptability. Style Yourself seems to have found the answer. Starting with wardrobe basics (i.e. build your wardrobe, shop smarter and be your own stylist) helps create a foundation from which to begin. From there they help you explore the fun side of fashion with remixes, pattern play and more.

Last week, Cole and I took our bicycles for a ride around Como Park. It was one of those perfectly gorgeous evenings that make summer so wonderful. We rode around till my legs felt like jelly, which sadly takes no time at all, then stopped in various pretty locations to snap some photos. I'm wearing a Tulle dress designed by my lovely friend and Delightful Dozen pal, Dear Beatrice. I own a few other pieces that she's designed for both Tulle and me. Needless to say, Beatrice is extremely talented!

Right before I moved to the Twin Cities, I was lucky enough to meet up with my lovely Delightful Dozen pals, Tieka and Veronika. We met halfway in my old college town of East Lansing, MI. Driving at my normal break-neck speed, I arrived early and took the opportunity to drive around and reminisce. It's amazing how much the campus and downtown still look the same as when I graduated in 2003. I was even able to point out Cole's and my old apartment on Grand River right adjacent to the Urban Outfitters I used to work at. It was so nice chatting with Tieka and Veronika about blogging randomness, creepy flickr stalkers, helpful husbands and crazy pets. I only wish we could have spent more time together! Hopefully they'll both come for a visit to the Twin Cities.

Hectic weekdays require quiet weekends. Cookie K's Vintage has just the pieces necessary to make your relaxing weekend in, just that much more tranquil...
