I call this outfit my "if Margot wore pants" look. I like to think she would rock high-waisted, granny, high-waters, too. Plus, these would've been perfect for when she escaped school. Anywho, I found this vintage Saks Fifth Avenue mink coat at the Salvation Army last Friday! It was just too gorgeous to pass on by, plus it was 50% off and ended up costing $35.00! I know many of you are against wearing real fur, and I don't like wearing new furs, but vintage ones are ok in my book.

J.Crew Spring 2011

I love receiving emails from brands featuring collections that really inspire me. This lovely Hollywood shoot for J.Crew's Spring collection made me want to transport myself to 1960 LA. I loved the little tidbits about the city and the hair in particular is quite fantastic. Also, I need to find out who makes those awesome cat-eye/wayfarer hybrid sunglasses.

Surprise!

Well, I did it! After eight years of being a brunette, I'm blonde again! It's a bit of a work in progress, I didn't want to go too drastic, but next time I'll go a shade lighter. Oh, and what do you think of my new AA beret? The sea green shade really matches my eyes and I picture myself wearing it with my camel cape-coat (if it ever arrives).

Also, here are a few of the new items that have arrived on my doorstep. Isn't the collar on the cardigan divine and I still can't believe I found these platforms at Target! They'll be so perfect for summer and in the meantime I'll wear them with black tights.

The blouse and sweater are from ModCloth, the platforms from Target and the socks from F21.

... I do apologize for the lack of photo shoots this week. We've been so swamped since we got back from our trip! I hope to make up for it soon.

We arrived last night in our secret destination city. It was -8 degrees out with a wind chill of -24. Brrrrr. The hotel we're staying at definitely makes up for the insanely cold weather. It's very modern with cool architectural details. Tomorrow we'll be going on a city tour, I'm very excited!

Bell Telephone Co 1926

Cole and I were in downtown Royal Oak today and decided to take some photos by the old Bell telephone building. After living in Marblehead, MA where many houses dated back to the 1680's it's pretty funny to think that a building from 1926 is considered old. Ah, the Midwest. So I'm sporting my new GAP high waist flares and I love them! I returned the second pair since they were too long even with my platforms, but I think I might still order them in petite off the website. It feels so strange to be wearing such wide-legs again- it really brings me back to college when all I wore were wide-leg or boot-cut jeans. Side note- I love how the button on the waistband is stamped with the date 1969- that was the inspiration for my outfit.
