2010: A Review

Happy New Year!
Yours,

I've been fashion blogging for a year and a half now and I have to say that 2010 was quite amazing. Here is a look back at my favorite sartorial moments from each month...

It's time again for our monthly Pickwick Ladies Book Club shoot. This month was Mel's choice of Little Women. I grew up in love with the movie- to me there were no better actors than Winona Ryder and Christian Bale, but it took till now for me to fully read the book. What a complete gem. I cried over the love and tenderness the sisters showed each other and the caring wisdom bestowed upon them from their parents. There are truly so many life lessons in this book. So, how cool is this little old shack?! Cole and I stumbled upon it today while we were taking the dogs for a walk. I almost forgot about it when we left to take photos, but luckily remembered just in time. It's too perfect. This may be the last holiday look, but I'm hoping to squeeze in one more before New Year's Eve.
By-and-by Jo roamed away upstairs, for it was rainy, and she could not walk. A restless spirit possessed her, and the old feeling came again, not bitter as it once was, but a sorrowfully patient wonder why one sister should have all she asked, the other nothing. It was not true, she knew that and tried to put it away, but the natural craving for affection was strong, and Amy's happiness woke the hungry longing for someone to `love with heart and soul, and cling to while God let them be together'.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, with lots of love from moi and Aloysius!

There are so many lovely items to choose from at Adrian Company Vintage and my eye was immediately drawn to these vintage preppy pieces! There is nothing I love more than sporty vintage bits that can be worn every day!

Well, I was going to post this later, but I just couldn't wait! Ha. This is my new favorite shoot and very Bonnie and Clyde inspired. I hope none of you are offended by the gun- it's only used for skeet shooting, hand on my heart. Anyways, I found this dress at The Salvation Army for a few bucks and fell in love. My mom says I look like my grandma when I wear it, but I don't consider that a bad thing. Grandma chic is where it's at. Ever since I bobbed my hair, I've been wanting to do a little Bonnie-esque shoot. Finding this dress just pulled it all together. Now if only I was blonde...

My sponsor, LaRaux's Closet is giving one of my lucky readers the chance to win this gorgeous Chinese Laundry clutch! One of the wonderful things about LaRoux's closet is that everything in the shop is really affordable, from pretty dresses to beautiful jewelry. As their slogan says, "Don't pay a fortune to be yourself!"

Cole and I just got back from this photo shoot. It was perfectly timed with the sunset- which gave everything a soft muted glow. Hey, check me out wearing sensible flats. No twisted ankles this time, although I did slip a bunch (see above photo). I just bought these vintage wingtips on Etsy and couldn't be happier. There was a decided whole in my black flats selection. What do think of my new leopard jacket? I was returning something at F21 and spotted (no pun intended) this little baby. It really satisfies my love of leopard.
