Lulu Letty: Finding My Color Season

Finding My Color Season

As many of you have guessed- new hair color means new clothes. Not new clothes per say, but figuring out what pieces in my wardrobe suit my new coloring best. Feeling a bit frustrated by this conundrum, I decided to revisit my color season analysis and see how things have changed...

While I used to consider myself a warm or soft autumn, it seems that I am now more of a warm spring. The trickiest thing for me is that I have color-changing eyes and neutral skin tone which really is neither warm nor cool. While it's easy for me to peg down my hair color, I feel that my chameleon eyes create a challenge- they can be green, blue-green, olive green and even grey-green leaving the options open for Warm Spring, Soft Autumn and Warm Autumn. But in the end, what this all boils down to is a dress, more specifically the lovely Ava dress by Pinup Couture.

Wanting it for holiday parties, I need to know- would I look better in jade green or teal blue? Opinions needed! If all else fails it does come in black!

Yours,

I think both dress colours work wonderfully with your hair but my favourite would probably be the blue.

Heather  – (November 16, 2010 5:02 PM)

I think the blue would be perfect. It's a softer color and would be the perfect balance for your warm hair color!

TrophyBoutique  – (November 16, 2010 5:13 PM)

I think the blue is more "you" but the important question here is: did you notice the model's boobs???

I love the green!! It will make your hair color pop more because they are complementary colors. A little science to help sway your decision ;)

See I think the green makes much more of a statement, and I think green and red hair make such a fabulous combination.
Choose either of the two- but do not choose black!!
I have pink and blonde hair and shunned red for years because it clashed but I've recently rediscovered it and love it all over again, so don't avoid colours just because they clash with your hair :]]
I've even ordered a red hat!!

i vote for green. i think itd be luminous on you <3

Vivian  – (November 16, 2010 5:36 PM)

Hi Maria!
I stongly recommend choosing the green one! Not only does it suit with your hair color, but also I think it is the perfect holiday shade of green!
BTW, loved your new hair! :D

Kellie W.  – (November 16, 2010 5:42 PM)

I've always thought green looks lovely on redheads!
And I have the same problem with my eye color, ha! I honestly have no idea what color they would be properly classified as. Maybe teal-is green-ish gray? I don't know!

natalia  – (November 16, 2010 5:45 PM)

Damn, that is a DRESS! I like both those colours and think they'd look great on you, but the green's a little more unexpected. That gets my vote. :D

Also, I did the analysis and I reckon I'm a warm spring too...which I guess is just as well, since the suggested colours are pretty much ALL the ones I wear. There may be some truth to this wackiness.

I'm gonna say the green because I love green and rarely wear blue!

Shallow Mallow  – (November 16, 2010 5:59 PM)

I reckon your eyes will look gorgeous no matter what you wear.
Red heds in jade green dresses always make me gasp though. That is such an amazing combination. :)

Whichever one you go for, that dress is a stunner.

Swalvs  – (November 16, 2010 6:12 PM)

The green one!I don't know any better color to go with your lovely new red hair whatever your eye color is! I'm also sure that you'll look stunning in both but the green will be perfect!

Flora  – (November 16, 2010 6:23 PM)

I think green is more festive, but please no black!

SMASH  – (November 16, 2010 7:09 PM)

goodness that dress is amazing! Going back to the color thing, when I was about 11 or 12 my dad got me this book that told you what season you were/colors you looked best in and he made me do like a small report on the book--so weird but I know that I'm a winter at least?? ;)

Wow that dress is awesome! I think they would both look awesome, but I'm leaning towards the green. I just think it would look so beautiful with your new hair!

HereWeGoAJen  – (November 16, 2010 7:49 PM)

Green! Green always looks good on redheads. But the blue would be great too, you can't lose.

Tieka, Selective Potential  – (November 16, 2010 8:50 PM)

I absolutely love green on redheads - so so pretty.

eyots  – (November 16, 2010 9:27 PM)

I've never seen that before! I am getting ready to dye my hair from warm medium brown (which I hate) to a dark ashy brown and it seems like I'll be happier with the new color.

That's a great palette for redheads. It's amazing how dramatic one change can be.

Heather  – (November 16, 2010 9:37 PM)

Redheads and the color green do go well together, but I feel like green dresses are hard to pull off for non-holiday occasions. As a fellow redhead I think you would get more mileage out of the blue dress (beyond just holiday parties) and it would still look lovely with your natural hair color.

Jenny Morris  – (November 16, 2010 9:38 PM)

This is SUCH a toughie. I'm a redhead too. My skin is very pale though and I look better in rich dark colors (like the royal blue or a deep emerald green)

But I think with your hair and skin tone, the green would really sparkle. Also I think its a prettier color for that particular dress. It shows the detail and pops a little more. I'm curious to know what you decide!

NO BLACK MISSY!

to beat a dead horse...go green! for all the reasons above. Big ol no to the black though! You'll look look like a proper sex kitten in the green one :)

Louise  – (November 17, 2010 12:27 AM)

I think the blue would look best on you. The green is gorgeous, but I feel like it might be too 'cartoony' or 'lomo' with your hair color. (But I am sure you could pull off anything.)

Tonia  – (November 17, 2010 2:42 AM)

Oh wow! The green, the green!

Rose  – (November 17, 2010 2:53 AM)

That is a lovely dress. Ive always thought that those with red hair look the best in greens.

For gingers with white skin like you, there are only one colour: green. It´s perfect! You only have to think in Julianne Moore.

vintagereflection  – (November 17, 2010 4:57 AM)

You would suit either but I love green with red hair. I've got red hair and never worry about what goes or doesn't match, some times a bit of a clash is best, to keep your fashion new and exciting! Hope your work out your colour pallet soon, I know it's frustrating! xx

Whatever you do don't get black! Not much help I know, but I think either colour would look stunning on you.

nihonfleur  – (November 17, 2010 7:25 AM)

I always love green on a red head, but both dresses are gorge!

Alice  – (November 17, 2010 7:26 AM)

I think teal blue would be perfect! It's definitely your colour and goes perfect with your skin and hair colour. Hope that helps. ;) xx, Alice

Pin Up Girl has the best retro styles, love that site. I think both colors are stunning but for some reason my eyes are leaning towards the blue.

curious constellation  – (November 17, 2010 8:42 AM)

I think Teal Blue would look just lovely.

sparkle is a color (Katrina)  – (November 17, 2010 9:57 AM)

I think teal! Somehow, for me, that color green with red hair seems kind of costume-y. What kind of costume, I don't know, haha. But I think the teal color would look awesome on you!

Sadie's Wardrobe  – (November 17, 2010 10:00 AM)

I'm definitely a fan of green - especially on red-heads!
It's such a pretty shade of green too :)

One Girl  – (November 17, 2010 10:24 AM)

Oh MAN! That dress is drop dead perfect! Oh...I have a soft spot for green. And it would fit the season, no? But is it too matchy for Christmas? I don't know. These are the silly thoughts that run through my head for Christmas. I actually want to wear an off white dress! Hello Snowman!
My vote is for the green. Go for it! I think it would look STUNNING with your hair.

Witt  – (November 17, 2010 10:25 AM)

Green dress+red hair=Bella Maria! I always though redheaded girls looked great in green! Either way, you'll still look gorgeous.

The green would be perfect! I'm sold!

Emm_DF  – (November 17, 2010 11:34 AM)

I vote for blue, because to me the material of the dress just looks better in blue. I love green/red hair combination, but this green I feel looks a bit too costum-y...

Please post some pics when you do wear it! You will look fabulous!

green - it clashes with your hair and skin, but in a very good way :)

enimie  – (November 17, 2010 1:26 PM)

Everybody's saying green, BUT that's the obvious choice really, redheads look good in green, so what. Personally, I think the blue dress would be more suitable for your style (not just your hair) & would look stunning. The green would be pretty and OBVIOUS, also, you'd want to wear it even if you weren't a redhead, right?

styleatelier  – (November 18, 2010 12:43 AM)

The blue would look amazing on you! This green is not deep and rich enough.

Shelby  – (November 18, 2010 1:04 AM)

Go with Green. Green is what Joan would choose and it is always best to live you life based on the rules of Mad Men.

Design Junkie  – (November 18, 2010 8:44 AM)

I think the Blue would work more for the holiday parties. Since I am sure you would like to look like a guest and not the entertainment.. The green is lovely as well but has a sharper edge to it with the hair, eye, and skin tones...

jane + jen  – (November 18, 2010 9:55 AM)

green. all the way. you have way too much personality to settle on black!!

green.
