Sunset by the Lake

It's so nice having the lake to ourselves again. Now that the weather is turning cold, the park is pretty deserted rendering it perfect for photo shoots. There is nothing more serene to me than a sunset by the lake. We had to shoot fast because within no time the sun was turning bright orange and falling behind the horizon.
If you spotted yesterday's tumblr, you probably noticed that I mentioned shopping in Ann Arbor at American Apparel. Well, I did and I bought this lovely navy blue beret. You've seen my old black beret many times, but I've been dying for a navy blue one for as long as I've owned my duffle coat. I think they go together perfectly.

Old pleated skirt: Banana Republic
Old knee socks: from high school
Vintage kiltie pumps: thrifted
Satchel: Urban Outfitters
Navy blue beret: American Apparel
Yours,

Lovely outfit! I love how the old the clothes are, you really are an inspiration in showing how you can keep clothes for ages and use accesories to rework them! (saves money)xxx

love the knee high/loafer combo!!!
This outfit is so great. I love that they've been closet staples of yours for so long. I also enjoy that this post is just that - things you have owned for a while. It's refreshing to see that, especially since a lot of fashion bloggers (speaking generally here - not about the vintage blogging community) have the newest thing: Chloe, MiuMiu, Mulberry, etc. Most of us can't afford that!!
Anyway, your photos look like they could have been shot in the 50's. Bravo.

Sounds silly, but I couldn't help but be amazed that your socks from high school are still in perfectly cute condition! Mine like to wear out on the heels and toes fairly quickly, especially my favorite ones. :(
