Lulu Letty: The Explorer

Sorry for the lack luster background, but I had to seize the opportunity with Cole being home. Instead of my back steps, imagine that I'm standing in a gorgeous field of flowing wheat! Btw, Cole says "Thanks!" for all the well wishes and crossed fingers; his interview went quite well. Yay! I heard back from my doctor- he wants me to keep taking the 12.5 mcg of Synthroid. Even though the drug isn't doing much for me now, after reading comments from a few of you with Hashimoto's, I'm confident that given time it will help! The Explorer

Tressa, of Puppycatmeow, was kind enough to send me a lovely long braid to pair with the one I bought last week. She also sent me a pretty braided headband that you'll see me wearing soon! Wearing the two braids together makes me feel like a modern day Sacagawea! This look definitely has Halloween costume potential! The Explorer

So great! What a change from yesterday! Diversity is always a good thing.

Taylor B.  – (October 12, 2010 11:09 PM)

You're so beautiful! You should really grow your hair out...which I know is what you're doing but you'll be cutting it, again, after that. I say enjoy it being long for a while before you cut it.

Rio  – (October 12, 2010 11:20 PM)

Oh my goodness I love those braids! I love your hair as it is, but you also look adorable with long braids! I've got to get some of those since I can't seem to let me hair grow out! ;) Cute dress, especially with the tights! :)

I actually think that background's rather lovely!

Very pretty pictures.

Tara  – (October 12, 2010 11:42 PM)

Maria, you're so beutiful with those braids and absolutely the outfits. I don't know but I think you're kinda look like an Indian girl here, hehe.
Love from Indonesia :)

melina bee  – (October 13, 2010 12:27 AM)

ValeF  – (October 13, 2010 1:02 AM)

Tonia  – (October 13, 2010 2:34 AM)

wow the braids looks great on you! Fingers crossed for your hubby

nachtfalter  – (October 13, 2010 6:42 AM)

I just wanted to say, that I like it much more when you keep your lips natural.

Em  – (October 13, 2010 7:18 AM)

I really like this look for you--a nice variation of the more preppy looks. The braids are fun--makes me want to get some too! I hope Cole is successful in his pursuits and the meds work out for you. I have a family member that takes the same meds you do and it took a while before there was an effect for her. Luckily, she did not need surgery.

lyri  – (October 13, 2010 7:27 AM)

I love those boots! (And the headband, and the long long braids!)

As for the Synthroid, give it time, and make sure not to take the generic version. I had severe concentration and energy problems which were fixed once I made the switch to the brand name, even at the same dosage. If it doesn't work out for you, there's a few less popular forms of thyroid hormone replacement (Armour and Cytomel, to name a few) that you can also try.

Michal  – (October 13, 2010 7:59 AM)

I honestly can't tell you how much I love this look!! The braids, the boots, the dress, the headband- everything!

Glad to hear Cole's interview went well! Hope you start feeling better soon.

IM ACTUALLY OBSESSED WITH THIS OUTFIT! I got a drastic haircut in March (8 inches, so not that drastic, but drastic for me), I wish I had my length back, and i really want these braids!

Too freakin' cute! I love the braids!

Miki's scrapbook  – (October 13, 2010 8:43 PM)

When I was in college, I loved knowing about that part of the American history (I'm speaking about the Louisiana purchase). I didn't know about Sacagawea, though. Thanks for expanding my very limited knowledge about the USA.

I loved this scenery, by the way; and the blouse!

Miki.

i have hashimoto's, and have been taking 125 mcg of synthroid daily for over 18 months, and i still see no difference in my overall health. my doctor just said to trust that i would be a lot worse if i wasn't on it.

also, you have to wait 6-8 weeks for the dose change to fully set, so that might be another reason you see no difference.

My mom had Hashimoto's...don't you worry everything will be fine!! If you need unofficial medical advice, email me anytime. I'm a 3rd year medical student - and I have a ton of resources available to help find answers to any questions you may ever have!

I'm kind of obsessed with the navy tights + JC boots pairing. I love it!!!
