Duck Hunt

My apologies for the delayed post. Lately, I've been having bits of insomnia which leaves my brain feeling like mush and muddles my days. I blame the heat and humidity, but in truth, I just have weeks where this happens.
Anyways, this is my duck sweater that I spent way too much on, but couldn't live without. It screams out to my inner preppy and I couldn't resist its siren call. I usually plan out my bigger splurges, like my JC shoes, but this was love at first sight and sometimes you can't ignore that pull. Right?!

TGIF!!!
Today is Cole's last day at his internship. We'll be going to my parents' cottage in a few days for a long, much needed break before he starts his final year of business school.
I love back to school time!
Oh and fyi, I always post a few outtake photos from my shoots on tumblr.
Yours,

That is some cardigan! So unusual. I like the way you paired it with neautrals so well – it makes a kind of wintry piece perfectly into a late summer one.
I'm a big fan of the shot of you standing on the log – such an interesting composition.
Cute outfit and I love your hair.
I saw that sweater at Anthropologie and just about died. I want it so badly, it looks lovely.
It's far too hot here in Georgia; not breezy in the least bit and as humid as all get out-- BUT, despite those factors, I need that cardigan on my back!
It's just perfect. And you, Miss Maria, are gorgeous.
Sometimes, I think you belong in a different era of timeless beauty and Southern belles. I always think of Southern belles when I see your photoshoots! As always, another great shoot.
You are so beautiful it blows my mind a little bit. Also, the curls in your hair are perfection.
I would be so excited all day if I wore this outfit! It's so great! I love the belted shorts and duck sweater.
Wow I'm so jealous of your entire outfit today. Especially that incredible cardigan and your boots!

Ooooh! I loved it in the catalogue!
It would look fabulous with argyle knee socks!!
You look radiant :)
Congrats to Cole!
Love the sweater! it has the perfect length and the duck pattern is too cute. Also - those boots are amazing.
LOVE the sweater. your post reminds me of the nintendo game duck hunt - with the orange gun. i haven't had so much fun playing a video game since then.
Your photo shoots are always so inspiring, but this one may just me my favourite that you have posted. Those JC's are killer and I adore the duck cardigan.
Can I ask how you edit your photos? I just love the effect.

DUCK SWEATER. I love it!
I see why you needed it, it's quite amazing :) I think it fits your style perfectly!
I used to have a duck cardigan/jacket from the 1950s:

I didn't wear it as much as I should have, so I sold it, but it was really cool ;) I have some vintage barkcloth I was going to make a skirt out of, and have a duck outfit, hehe.

So cute!
I'm just glad that you didn't say that sweater was thrifted- it would be too lucky if it was!
It is just the best sweater I've seen in ages. Would it be morbid if you wore it while modeling Cole's shot gun? I think they would look neat together. Haha! I also always like how you pick the perfect lipstick to go with your look :)

I like the boots and the cardigan
So what time of day did you take these shots so as not to melt? :) The sweater is beautiful. I like this hat a lot. Almost reminds me of something Bavarian! The lighting is just gorgeous.
Bravo Maria!

Great styling on that cardigan. I would never have been brave enough to style that. Daisy Dayz Home
that cardigan is so *you*!
Oh Maria, that sucks about the insomnia. I get really bad insomnia too - the same kind of thing, it will go on for a couple of weeks every once in awhile. Lavender helps a little bit. This shoot turned out absolutely lovely, even if you are tired!
The duck cardigan is awesome. I love little details that make a statement about one's unique style, wearing something for the pure love of wearing it. Also, those boots are amazing.
Enjoy the vacation! I love this sweater.
I love your hair..so shiny and healthy! And the sweater is so cute. We do need some splurges every once in a while, don't we?
