Champagne Petals

Another Delightful Dozen swap, courtesy of Tieka. A very pretty little dress, if a bit snug. I love the soft lavender shade.

Cole and I hadn't been on a champagne picnic in a few weeks. It was quite wonderful, but bloody hot. I don't think I can take too much more of this heat and humidity. Bring on fall!
Funny little story...when we were in the store buying the champagne, Cole was carded. As the cashier was checking his ID she asked if I was his daughter. Cole's response was "that's my wife." She then ID'd me. What!? Seriously. I know I look young, but not that young. Neither does Cole look that old. Silly lady. This was the first time this has ever happened to us, but it used to happen to my parents all the time. My dad went gray really young and my mom looks very young for her age. Bah.

i agree with previous comment (by Solanah). beautiful photos + chic fashion sense :)
I used to love getting carded but now I'm like...seriously?! It's a hassle to have to dig in my bag and find my wallet and get my I.D.... Argh!
Anyway, I know what you mean about the heat and humidity. I need a bit cooler weather. Say 85˚. No heat index, please!
nice shots! and great post! new follower!

People are extremely misguided sometimes - once an old lady asked my sister (who is 4 years older than me and was about 14 at the time) if I was her daughter. We feel your pain.
You're adorable! The story is adorable! The other day I was stopped from trying a free sample at the grocery store because the lady handing out the samples said that children 16 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. I was so surprised that I blurted out, 'Dude, I'm 26' to this little old lady!
The dress looks beautiful on you and how do you get your skin to look beautiful and flawless when it's so hot out! I always look like a mess, and not a hot one either.

Beautiful photos as always! That's too funny about the ID'ing! People are just silly sometimes haha!

Gorgeous photos! I'm 28 and I get asked for ID every single time I try and buy alcohol. Bars, supermarkets, everywhere! I got asked for ID while buying an 18 rated DVD last year too. Ridiculous! x
Aw. I love a good ID story. Some cashiers have a very strange outlook on things! Very pretty photographs, as ever.
Gorgeous pics. I always love the "picnic by the lake" ones.
Take it as a compliment: I haven't been id checked since I was 16!
Your photos are stunning, as per usual. And that dress is gorgeous on the both of you.
Hah! Silly lady.
X
Getting carded isn't a bad thing. I think you can definitely pass for someone in undergraduate university so I'm not surprised you had to show ID.
I like the soft lighting in the photos. I still get carded and it makes me laugh.
oof, people used to ask me if my brother was my child, when I was 16 and he was 9! people are crazy!
beautiful pictures as always!
Very funny story ha. And that sounds like a great picnic, I may have to try this with my bf.

that dress is so pretty on you!

I'm just wondering why You were carded....to prove to the lady that you were in fact his wife cause it's funny, or because he was buying alcohol...the last option would be really lame.
These pictures are so beautiful and I love the dress. I feel like people have a scewed image of what people of certain ages look like because I keep being mistaken for a Highschool freshman instead of a college one!
The Girl in the Paper Dress
What a silly woman!!!!
Love the dress, as usual! :)
These photos are magical, I love their atmosphere. So cute that you two go on champagne picnic, such a great idea! My boyfriend wouldn't do that, he would tell me I'm insane :)
what a crazy story! that happens to me all the time too. i went on a trip and the drinking age was 18 there, i got carded everywhere. i'm pretty sure i don't look younger than 19, but oh well! It's good not to look your own age!
Beautiful photos! A champagne picnic sounds heavenly :)
I love these pictures especially the last one. The colors are great, very moody. I actually have the same problem with getting carded but I dont mind...I think I might start to mind when they stop carding me :)
A champagne picnic, what a lovely idea!
Oh, that happens to Matt and I ALL THE TIME. Oddly though, they tend to ask how old I am and just assume Matt is old. (By the way, we are three months apart.)
oh wow! well its a compliment to you! dont worry about that lady! lol but stunning photos!
Those photos are nice, I like your shoes..The last shot is my favorite
Dreamy photos. I wish my husband enjoyed champagne as much as I do. If we had a picnic, it would just be me and the bottle. haha.
That checker does sound pretty silly. I think older people have difficulty accurately judging age (if this person was in fact older). The fact that this person asked such a question speaks volumes!
gorgeous pictures!

That dress looks so pretty on you! I love it!
Gorgeous photos too! :)
awww poor Cole. that's so sad! he doesn't look old enough one bit to have a daughter your age. that is really really embarrassing for her probably to do that. WOW. You don't even look under 21 to me. Maybe just 21 or 22. . .but wow. . poor Cole!!!!!!!
You are gorgeous.
Oh, what a beeeaautiful view! and this whole photo session.. I'm speechless.
haha, oh dear i know exactly how you feel! where ever i go everyone thinks im much younger. when i started a new job recently one woman was shocked that i was driving home, she thought i was 16! im actually 22.
everyone says ill be glad about this when im 30! x
Gorgeous photos, I love that you guys do champagne picnics! Too cute!
I can't believe that lady... at least it's a funny story though! xx
That first photo is breathtaking.
And what a funny little story!
Oh that is so funny about the store, hey you will be so happy about that when you are much older :)
Just love the softness of this dress.

I was on vacation recently on Cape Cod with my family, and my boyfriend and I were at a Christmas Tree Shop looking for a beach chair for my mom when out of nowhere this 80-year-old dude comes up and says,"Your father is gonna need a bigger one than that!" My boyfriend is 6'6", which is what he was alluding to, and he IS 15 years older than me... but looks 35! and I'm 28. It was really annoying. Buh. The shit people think they are entitled to say always appalls me.
In more pleasant news, you look lovely, as ALWAYS!
Lavender is such a pretty color.
