Cape Cod

Back to the topic at hand, for some odd reason this vintage blanket makes me think of Cape Cod. Maybe it's the blue and beige colors or the preppy plaid, but it just screams Cape Cod clambake. (Now I'm sitting here salivating and thinking about fried clam strips. Bah.) Actually, what I think is making me think of Cape Cod are my vintage earrings. When I first bought these five years ago, I wore them everyday during Cole's and my first trip to the Cape. So, that could explain it, too. ;)

Do you ever make yourself wait for things till they go on sale, even if you're dying to buy them?

Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa?
Once I waited a year for a pair of boots to go on sale! But they now reside in my closet for 20 bucks less, so it was worth it.
You are seriously amazing. I mean, you're wearing a blanket and it looks fantastic on you. And those stripe socks...Love the whole look.
I love your style so so much. The way you belted the blanket makes me suddenly panicked about the weather getting warm! Must recreate this somehow in the next week before it's too warm!
well the certainly look worth the wait, they are adorable...love the little stripey socks too!

The setting is soo beautiful, very understandable why you miss living in New England. You outfit is also amazing, and I'm gld you got the shoes you were lusting after. It's the best feeling getting something you have been longing when on sale.
I think everyone wants those shoes. I've been wanting them since August as well. . .but I don't think I'll ever be getting them so I'll just dream as I look at your beautiful photos wearing them! hehe. I probably don't have the right ankles for them anyway (I have very very very tiny ankles). Oh well.
Love the outfit as always. You are adorable.
Nobody wears chambray as well as you!
haha funny, I've got similar shoes and I was wearing them with b/w striped socks today as well :D
well as usual the pictures are beautiful and very harmonious!
very charming outfit!

Love the blues and your earrings are gorgeous dahling!!!!
Have a lovely day!
Love these pictures! I love those Seychelles booties too and I think seeing them on you might push me over the edge to buy them. I generally am very bad at waiting for a sale but I should probably learn to get better at that. :) - btw, always love your winged liner too!

good idea by wearing the blanket like that. you look terrefic:)
you look gorgeous in these photos, and I love the outfit!
The shoes are amazing, and yes, I also make myself wait for things to go on sale. It makes it so much sweeter when you finally get the item! xx
Waiting for sales is not always good, then you might miss out! I suppose it depends what the item is, how much it is, and where you can get it! The internet being what it is though, what you want can always be cheaper somewhere else!
Love the blues ... do you have any colorful surprises coming up for us? (the readers) ;)
a hug,
nancy
I don't think I would have the patience like you! Good on you for waiting for the sales, the shoes look fab:)
xx
I really like how you're wearing the blanket as a poncho. brilliant! I so wish I had patience so when I see something I really like and gotta have but it's a little high priced I compare online shops to see who has the best price hahaa ^.^

Well worth the wait! Those shoes are adorable.
Oh blue looks so good on you!
Where do you live now?
I've always wanted to go to Nantucket everyone told me it was such a wonderful place!
I've only been there for 2 days though!
this post rules! i might be a bit biased because i am from cape cod, but i have to agree with you; the colors on that plaid are very local to the area for some reason. i think it's the muted blue and tan, much like the color of the ocean and sand.
this look also reminds me of a lot of the old sea captain houses on the cape. cozy vintage. how lovely...i'm a bit homesick!
awesome post! ilove the blanket, very unique :)
I love those shoes, I have been wanting some like that for awhile now too. I try to only thrift or buy on sale so I know how you feel!
Girl friend I just love the outfit and the setting !
Love the play on dark and light colors and materials, mixing denim and wool... Just love it ! And ever since one year or so ago, since it's hot, I love capes ! Love the one you've made yourself
You look gorgeous as always! Adorable shoes.

Your earrings are such a perfect, delicate touch.
I loved New England when I visited this Winter and could really see you living there and loving it.
love the earrings... and the hairdo goes perfectly with it =) I don't have the patience for a sale... the longest I'll wait is a couple of paychecks -- and then buy it!
Every time I see your pictures I crave for our photo shoot one day! One day soon I hope =)

the stripes peeking out of your Seychelles is a fine touch. cute look, Maria.
only you could pull off a blanket as a cape. it looks GREAT on you! And the detail of your striped socks really pulls it all together. Your looks are so unbelievable lately!
You have amazing style I love it!!
Will keep reading your blog!

i don't usually wait for items to go on sale...instead, i find something like it.hehe. here in PI, even aldo is expensive for us..good thing there are lots of alternatives!
♥ vanilla ice cream ♥
Aren't Seychelles shoes expensive? Are they comfortable? I like this outfit! I really need a blanket cape thing! Still searching for one. I missed my chance at Urban in December. I bought a studded blazer instead and totally regretted it and I went back the next day and I couldn't find it... sad face. Love the earrings! :) I also like your hair in a high bun! Can't wait to have long enough hair to do this and milkmaid braids!
i love your outfit...so boheme...great attitude,kinf of a female Steve McQueen!!
Whoa, can you look any more amazing? Everything is beautiful!
Yep, I wait for things to go on sale if I can stalk them on a regular basis to make sure no one snatches them up.
lovely, lovely post!
The shoes are absolutely great and the earrings are definitely to die for. I have some Tribeca high heeled oxfords and I have worn them to death. Almost to the point I need those seychelles ones...
Speaking of Seychelles - yes, I was waiting for the Tippy Toes to go on sale and as soon as they did, my size was sold out immediately :(
Love the Cape! Had the wonderful experience of visiting there last summer. Hello, Lobster!!
another rad outfit! you look awesome maria, and that purse/belt thingy is super cool!
Soo pretty!!
And how on earth do you get your eyeliner so perfect all the time?!
Lottie x
Ahhh, your shoes! They look so amazing on you! Well worth the wait! ;)
I love this outfit! You have such a distinct sense of style and your outfits are always so inspirational to me.
I've been admiring your little vintage Coach for a while (I've grown to love teeny purses!) and I was ecstatic when I found one in black while trifting this weekend - I immediately thought of you!
Have you ever done a make-up post? You always look so pretty! I'd love to know some of your tips or what products you use.
Oh I just love your shoes and your jeans. Great look!
xoxo
Those earrings are so so beautiful! I would love to visit New England someday! There are so many places in the US that I'd love to see :)
